RBS takes support of grassroots football to the final
Back in August, we were thrilled to see our sponsored local team — Mickleover RBL (Royal British Legion) Under-elevens Jaguars — walk out alongside Derby County as the Rams geared up for their first home game of the season.
Now it looks as though some of that magic has rubbed off.
After a spectacular victory against Belper Town, we’re delighted to announce that our boys have made it through to the Derby Junior Football League final. Needless to say, everybody at RBS is immensely proud, and now we want everyone to join us in showing your support.
“Supporting local communities has always been a massive deal for us,” explains RBS Managing Director, Adam Smith. “We’ve always viewed grassroots football as a big part of that.
“Derby has a long and storied history when it comes to football. Names like Bloomer and Clough mean a great deal to a lot of people, they’re names a lot of the younger generation aspire towards. To be able to cheer our boys on at the final really brings that home.”
A win in the semi-finals earlier in the month will now see the Jaguars play Tonton United Black in May.
“Both sides have done exceptionally well to make it this far,” Adam continues. “They’ve not only done everybody at RBS proud, but they’re also a tremendous credit to themselves, to each other, and to everyone who has given their support throughout the season. Now we’re asking everybody to come along and cheer both teams on in the final.”
The Derby Junior Football League final takes place on May 19th and will be held at Ilkeston Town FC. For more details, you can check out the latest news and tournament updates at https://www.derbyjfl.com/
