Last month saw runners all over the country take part in Run Every Day in support of mental health charity, MIND. Being avid runners ourselves, RBS was keen to get involved. Here’s how we got on…
RBS Completes RED January — Thank you to everybody who supported us
January saw thousands of people across the UK put on their running shoes and brave the cold in aid of Run Every Day — a month-long challenge to run every day initiated by mental health charity MIND.
With 1 in 4 people expected to experience mental health problems, it’s important to keep our wellbeing in check. Running isn’t just a great way to stay physically fit, it’s also been proven to reduce levels of stress, release the hormones that make us feel good, and improve our overall quality of sleep for a better night’s rest.
For many, like ourselves, running is also an extremely effective method of gaining clarity and focus whenever life throws obstacles in the way. So when RED January came around, we jumped (sorry, ran) at the chance to take part, and help raise money for a worthy cause in the process.
First things first: We’d like to thank everybody for their kind messages and donations. We were overwhelmed by the sheer number of people who showed their support — we couldn’t possibly be more grateful.
Secondly, we want to congratulate everybody who took part. Whether you ran half a mile a day or half a marathon, you did a fantastic job!
Above all, we want to encourage everybody reading this to keep running! The next big challenge is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to tackle it. Running is a fantastic way to stay fit, stay sharp, and maybe even raise some money for a worthy cause while you’re at it.
So from everybody at RBS, Thank You – now get out there and show everybody what you’re made of!
